PANCH Award
Since 2005 PANCH gives an award to a personality who has rendered outstanding service to the steelpan music in Switzerland.

Junior – we are excited to present to you the PANCH award 2011. You have deserved it for long! Today we'd like to thank you for all the big and the little things that you have done for PANCH and the Swiss pan community over all these years. You are an important person in our steelpan world and we hope that you stay that and that you will continue to foster, promote and develop pan music in Switzerland.

altHonorary President of PANCH – and now also winner of the PANCH Award 2010. We are delighted to honour Pit Zünd for his tireless efforts as negotiator, mediator, facilitator and integrator.

He has been an enthusiastic six bass player for a long time, until ear problems forced him to stop. But he remained a true friend of the pan. He still plays the iron ad hoc when needed and can bee seen as diligent photographer on many pan events.

altWe are very pleased to reward Carola Bestgen with the PANCH Award 2009 as Ambassador of Pan. Thanks to her commitment and dedication for the handicapped and her steelband for handicapped ?extrem normal – normal extrem! she got unimagined possibilites to call the attention of many famous personalities or even whole orchestras to this instrument.

Carola has been a pan enthousiastic for many years and has played in many places on earth.

panchpreis-pini.jpgWe are pleased to hand the PANCH Award 2008 over to Claudio Pini. We are very happy to present the award to him - he more than deserves it! Claudio Pini was born in Zurich in 1971, where he passed his unspectacular childhood. At the age of 10 he started to play the drums which upset his whole neighborhood. After having moved to Berne he started to play the steelpan in Switzerland's first children-steelband. There and in many following bands he gathered a lot of important experiences for his musical future.
